AVANT was founded in Durham in 2002 and remains locally owned and led today.
That matters because staffing is full of details that are easy to overlook. We take the time to understand the position, the environment and the people involved. We stay close enough to notice when something changes and responsive enough to do something about it.
Today, AVANT serves employers and job seekers throughout Durham, Chapel Hill, Raleigh and the broader Research Triangle.
How We Got Here
AVANT began as a clerical and administrative staffing company. As the needs of local employers changed, so did we. In 2005, an opportunity to support a major industrial client expanded our capabilities into light industrial staffing.
Today, both are central to who we are. AVANT supports light industrial, production and distribution; clerical and administrative; and selected professional and leadership roles.
Why We Ask Questions
The Request Isn't Always the Whole Story
Sometimes an employer needs a person for an open position. Sometimes turnover, retention, changing workloads or a hard-to-fill role point to a bigger challenge.
We don’t assume the answer is always another resume.
AVANT asks questions to understand what’s happening, what success looks like and what may be getting in the way. That same curiosity shapes how we work with job seekers. We want to understand their experience, goals and expectations before deciding where there may be a fit.
It’s a practical approach built around listening first and responding to what we learn.
